Caritas Hellas has been an enthusiastic adopter of the power of creativity to lift people’s spirits and to heal their wounds.
It’s worked with migrants and refugees from Iran, Afghanistan and other countries, bringing in trained professional teachers in drawing, painting and photography to run workshops and put on touring exhibitions.
One volunteer professor introduced participants to the work of great artists and enjoyed the classes as much as the people she taught. “For young people who have had difficult experiences to leave the art studio with a smile, it is priceless for me,” she said.
