Caritas Lodigiana in Lombardy helped migrants and refugees to share their stories very intimately, using the intensity of drama to relay the risk, pain and suffering of the migration journey.
Most of the migrants and refugees acted out harrowing stories of fear and exploitation at the hands of traffickers.
Afterwards, they said they felt more at ease for telling their stories through art, while audience members admired their honesty and bravery.
“What we are doing here is important, people are really understanding us,” said Malik Tchako, one of the migrants. “I think everybody should do this.”
